BIRTH DOULA SERVICES (currently taking REPEAT clients only for births)
I provide birth doula services to families in the Twin Cities metro area. I offer a free informational interview so we can meet and discuss my services and your birthing goals. As a doula, I do not do anything medical. My role is to provide emotional and physical support, as well as evidence-based information about your birthing choices. I love working with partners to empower them to be as active and involved in the birth of their babies as they would like to be. It is my passion to help families have the births that THEY want to have.
When families hire me, I meet with them for one to two prenatal visits to discuss their birth preferences, plans for their postpartum time, and any other things the family wants me to know in order to support them.
Once hired, I am on call to the family to provide information during pregnancy, and to join them when they are ready for doula support at their birth. I stay with families for the duration of the birth, and usually leave a few hours after the baby is born. Then, do a postpartum meeting after the birth to go over notes and check in on the family. I also work to connect families with resources that will help them be successful as they transition into parenthood.
As a member of the Childbirth Collective (CC), I follow the CC's code of ethics and scope of practice. I have experience working with VBAC families, LGBTQAI+ families, twins, families experiencing loss, and families who are planning adoption.
Experience and training:
My birth doula fee is $2000. I am happy to set up payment plans and to help you seek reimbursement from your Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account. I can also give you a receipt to submit to your insurance. Insurance coverage for doulas varies from plan to plan, but I have had some families receive insurance reimbursement.
